by Q: Best way to get back into golf shape.....

Q: I have not golfed in sometime, but want to get back into this year. What are the best ways to get back into golf shape, both mentally and physically. I really don't have the time to go the range as much as I would like. Is there anything I can do at home?   - Andrew Maraniss

      A: Dear Andrew,
Thanks for a good question. Golf is an athletic sport and proper conditioning is very important. There are many good golf fitness books out on the market now and they all outline good conditioning routines. I don't thank its so important as to which one you follow but that you find a routine and stick to it. A good golf conditioning routine will have both strengthening and stretching exercises. Also you might try swinging a weighted club at home or the office since you don't get to the course or the range very often. A couple of lessons with your local PGA pro will define some swing thoughts you can work on while swinging a weighted club. Good luck and great golf in 99.
